Edmonton Pet Photography is operated by Eric Newby, based in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect the personal information you share with us through our website, edmontonpetphotography.com.

This policy applies to anyone who visits our website, submits an inquiry, completes the needs assessment, or books a photography session.
Information We Collect
Contact form:When you reach out through our contact page, we collect your name, email address, phone number (optional), your dog's name, and your message.
Needs assessment:When you complete our session recommendation quiz, we collect your name, email address, phone number (optional), your dog's name or names, and information about your dog (age, size, energy level, temperament) along with your photography preferences.
Booking:When you book a session, we collect your name, email address, and your dog's name, and these are associated with your booking record.
Payment:Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not collect or store your credit card information. Stripe's privacy policy is available at stripe.com/privacy.
How We Use Your Information
- To respond to your inquiry
- To provide personalized session recommendations

- To notify you of weather conditions that may affect your session

We do not send marketing or promotional emails unless you have separately and explicitly consented to receive them.
Third-Party Service Providers
We share your information with the following service providers, only to the extent needed to deliver our services:
- Supabase (supabase.com) stores your contact submissions, assessment responses, and booking records. Supabase servers are located in the United States.
- Stripe (stripe.com) processes your session retainer payment. Your name, email address, and session details are transmitted to Stripe to complete payment.
- Resend (resend.com) delivers your booking confirmation email. Your name and email address are shared for this purpose only.
- Google Analytics (analytics.google.com) helps us understand how visitors use the website, but only if you consent to analytics cookies. Google may process analytics data in the United States and other countries.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third parties for marketing purposes.
Data Retention
- Contact submissions: retained for up to two years.
- Booking records: retained for a minimum of seven years, as required by Canadian tax law.
- Assessment responses: retained for up to one year, or until linked to a completed booking.
You may request deletion of your information at any time (subject to our legal retention obligations) by contacting us at the address below.
Cookies and Local Storage
This website uses essential cookies and browser storage for site functionality, security, administrator access, form draft saving, and consent preferences.
With your consent, we use Google Analytics to collect information about how visitors use the site, such as pages viewed, approximate location, device/browser information, referral source, and interactions with the website. We use this information in aggregate to understand what content is helpful and where visitors may need a clearer path to booking or contact.
Google Analytics is optional. You may accept, reject, or customize your cookie choices when the consent banner appears, and you can reopen those choices using the “Privacy settings” button on the website.
We do not currently use advertising or remarketing cookies. If that changes, marketing cookies will remain optional and will require your consent.
We also use your browser's local storage to temporarily save contact form drafts and your assessment progress. This data stays on your device and is not transmitted to us unless you complete and submit a form.

Your Rights
Under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, where applicable, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to:

- Request deletion of your information (subject to our legal retention obligations)
- Withdraw any consent you have previously given
- File a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca

Email Communications Under CASL
When you contact us or complete a booking, you may receive an email response from us. These are transactional communications directly related to your inquiry or session. We do not send unsolicited commercial messages.
If you have opted in to receive updates or promotional communications, you may withdraw that consent at any time by contacting us at info@edmontonpetphotography.com with the subject line “Unsubscribe.”
International Data Transfers
Our service providers (Supabase, Stripe, Resend, and Google Analytics where analytics consent is given) may store and process data in the United States or other countries. By using our website and submitting information, you acknowledge that your information may be transferred to and processed in countries that may have different data protection standards than your country of residence.
